What Fairway is like
Does Fairway really have 'have fun' as a core value?

Holly Mattson President of Recruiting, Fairway
Yes. 'Have fun' is core value #3 at Fairway — official policy at a multi-billion-dollar, fifty-state mortgage lender, written there by employees. It sits right between 'Foster growth and knowledge' and 'Create an amazing experience for you.' We even built a playable arcade game into the recruiting site to prove it.
I get a raised eyebrow on this one, so let me be clear: it is real, it is number three, and it is taken seriously.
It is on the list because employees put it there. Fairway’s ten core values were written with employee input. When the people doing the work say fun belongs in the operating system, it goes in the operating system.
It shows up in how Fairway behaves. Elevate — Fairway’s national tour for mortgage and real estate professionals — has stopped at Empower Field at Mile High, Gillette Stadium, and The Bellagio. Fairway Day is built to be enjoyable, not endured. Branch events, awards, and the way leadership shows up all reflect it.
It shows up on the recruiting site, too. The sister site, JoinFairway.ai, has a playable arcade game called Rate Raiders built right into it, because a company with have fun as a value should probably have a high-score table. Go play it.
Why it matters professionally. Originators burn out on platforms that are all grind. A culture that protects fun is a culture that keeps good people — which is part of why 174 originators came back last year.
