Holly Mattson President of Recruiting, Fairway

Fairway has ten core values, written with employee input: Humility first; Foster growth and knowledge; Have fun; Create an amazing experience for you; Speed to respond; Seek wise counsel; Respect, listen and stay balanced; Committed to serve; Consistent, honest communication; and Family focused. They are used to decide awards and shape hiring, not just to decorate a wall.

Most company values are written by consultants. Fairway’s were written with the people who work here, which is why they sound like a team and not a brochure.

  1. Humility first
  2. Foster growth and knowledge
  3. Have fun — yes, really
  4. Create an amazing experience for you
  5. Speed to respond
  6. Seek wise counsel
  7. Respect, listen and stay balanced
  8. Committed to serve
  9. Consistent, honest communication
  10. Family focused

How they are used. They decide internal awards. They shape who gets hired and who gets promoted. They are the lens leadership uses when something goes wrong.

The two I lean on most as a recruiter. Speed to respond is why you will hear back from me quickly and personally. Consistent, honest communication is why I will tell you when Fairway is not the right move. The whole way I recruit is just those two values applied to you.
